A valuable rule of thumb while writing a blog post is “if it’s boring for you, it will be equally dull for your readers”. It is understandable when the topic is totally uninspiring to write. But this way you will risk losing interest of your readers since your writing will mirror your disinterest regarding the topic.
Let’s say, you have a blog about Food and recipes, and you write great and engaging posts on it. With that I am sure you would like your readers to know about kitchen cleaning techniques, as well. But kitchen cleaning is perhaps the least inspiring topic to write – so how do you make it inspiring for your readers and make your loyal fans come back for more?

Write Boring Topic More Efficiently
No need to lose hope! The following tips will be a great help in making most uninteresting of topics – “interesting”.
1. Share Your Personal Experiences
You can start off your post with a bang and share your personal experiences and stories which most people can relate and picture, thereby keeping interest and attracting readers towards an uninspiring topic. You can make your personal story even more interesting by creating a cliffhanger and making your readers wait for the conclusion until you finish the post.
If I was to write about kitchen cleaning, I would start with talking about visits to my Grandma as a child. Since her house smelled of vinegar, it always felt Easter as she used vinegar for cleaning her kitchen windows.
2. Include Pictures if feasible
When you give your readers a peek inside your world through picture, it will help you to instantly engage with them. Take some fun photos of yourself while you clean your kitchen. Also, you can create a step-by-step illustration which shows you cleaning a particular item. You can improvise on it even more according to your readers’ need.
3. Add Humor
There is hardly any subject matter you couldn’t write about with a bit of appropriate humor. But, make sure you keep it clean and simple. Your humor shouldn’t target or offend your readers. The best way to go about it is to use “Personal” humor. This will not only help you connect with your readers by making them know you better, but since it makes your “boring” topic very entertaining, it will incline your readers to keep reading.
Sticking with our kitchen cleaning example, you could joke about being “miserable” after cleaning your kitchen windows to sparkling perfection! Why? Because sadly you were able see your wrinkles in your window reflection!
4. Interesting or Shocking Facts, Statistics
Through research you can surely find something interesting on a topic that grabs attention. Moreover, there is no rule that it should be precisely about your subject matter. With our kitchen theme, you can give some interesting facts relate to kitchen appliances. For example, would you pay $3,000 for a microwave oven? That was the cost of the first microwave oven “The Radarange” and the year was 1947. So much for things being cheaper in the olden days!
If in case you are unable to find anything interesting then the best thing to do is to look for something historical in nature, like evolution of kitchen, invention of cooking range, what our ancestors use to do in their time, etc.
5. Make Your Title Engaging
Without an appealing title people might not even touch down at your introductory section. Let’s say you followed the above tips and have created an exciting, engrossing article about kitchen cleaning, but if your header is “how to clean your kitchen”, then all your hard work will go in vain.
Your title should not just be clear but it should grab attention of readers, at the same time. While appearing enthusiastic, it should show personality and should also explain what your readers will acquire from it. With kitchen cleaning, it could be… “Today’s menu- Clean your kitchen in just 15 minutes – Take it or leave it”
