To check-in on Foursquare, for creating a virtual map for a trip or for unlocking badges or points, can feel like a liability at times. Check-in process using Simple Check-in for Android or Checkie for iOS is extremely quick. It completes your otherwise time consuming check in task in matter of seconds; all you need to do is tap on screen just twice.

Foursquare
First tap will launch the app and with the second tap your check-in will complete.
- iOS: Install Checkie on your iOS device and then grant permission to the app to access your account on Foursquare. You will then see a list of venues nearby. Tap on the desired venue name to check in. However, it doesn’t let you push the check-in to Facebook or Twitter or add a photo or a shout, except if you have setup opt-in sharing option on each of your check-in.
- Android: Simple Check-in also works same as Checkie with an exception of a map. Simple check-in will display a list of nearby venues when you launch it, along with a map positioned right at the top of your screen. Using Map you will be able to confirm if the app is showing your location correctly. Same as Checkie, you cannot include a shout or a photo or send the check-in to your social network account.
And there it is… Checking into Foursquare in with just two taps! So fire up Simple Check-in or Checkie the next time you are out for a business lunch or dinner with friends or perhaps in a situation wherein you don’t actually have anything to say. I’ve moved Simple Check-in on the home screen of my Android as I am tired of going through the whole waiting and multiple click process to open the full Foursquare app for check-ins.
